11th November 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People told us that were involved in decisions about their care and that any treatments proposed were fully explained to them and given an indication of how much it was likely to cost. One patient said, "My dentist is very pleasant and explained everything. I knew exactly what was going to happen."

The dentist told us that treatment options were explained to the patient before any treatment commenced. People were given written information to supplement the explanations if needed.

We found the building and facilities where people received a service clean tidy and well maintained.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We reviewed the infection prevention and decontamination policies and found them to be up to date and comprehensive with responsibilities clearly defined.

We found that the provider had carried out checks on staff before they were employed to make sure they were fit to carry out their roles and responsibilities.

The provider had an effective quality assurance system to monitor the quality of service provided.
