27th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people using the service and four members of staff.

People told us clear explanations were provided about treatment options available and their costs. The person we spoke with said “they are always very polite, my dentist explained the costs both NHS and private and described the treatment options and their outcomes”.

Results from the provider’s patient satisfaction survey showed us that the majority of people had their treatment and costs explained to them. Comments from people we spoke with included “I’m perfectly well looked after, whether I go ahead with any treatment is entirely my own decision” and “I rang up and got an emergency appointment straight away, it’s my first visit here”.

People's medical conditions were taken into consideration when planning their treatment and arrangements were in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies.

The practice was clean, adequately maintained and infection control guidelines were being followed.

There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people’s needs effectively.

There was an effective complaints management system in place.
