22nd January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four people who used the service. People said they were provided with information about the treatment and the cost of the various treatments. They said the dentist always answered their questions relating to their treatment satisfactorily. One person said, "I am very happy with the treatment and feel in control and involved.” Another person said, "The dentist always discusses any treatment I need in detail and provides me with options. I then decide on the option that suits me best.”

People were confident that their needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan.

We found equipment used in the service was appropriately maintained to ensure people were not at risk from the use of unsafe equipment.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. Staff were knowledgeable on infection control processes.

We found the service had an effective recruitment and selection procedure in place to ensure staff were appropriately recruited. There were systems in place to deal with comments and complaints including providing people who used the service with information about the process.
