24th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with three people who used the practice. They made positive comments about the service, one person told us they were "very satisfied" with the treatment they had received. Another person told us that the hygienist was "particularly thorough". They told us that the staff were polite and respectful to them when they visited the practice. We also found that people were able to give their views about the service they had received. People also told us how they had their dental treatment explained to them and records that we looked at showed this.

Staff had received training to protect children and vulnerable adults from the risk of abuse. Everyone we spoke to said that the practice environment was clean when they visited. We found that there were effective procedures in place for the decontamination of dental instruments. We also found that quality monitoring systems were in place that included seeking the views of people using the service.

In this report the name of a nominated individual appears who was not in post at this location at the time of the inspection. We have advised the provider of what they need to do to remove the individual's name from our register for this location.
