Before patients received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. Patients felt in control of how their care and treatment was delivered. Patients told us they were given sufficient information by the doctors about their care and treatment options to make informed decisions. Comments we received included, “I always have good, in-depth consultations” and “There is a good exchange of information.”

We found that patient needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. The patients we spoke with were very satisfied with the care and treatment they received. One person told us, “They are excellent. I receive great care.” Another person told us, “The staff are brilliant. I love it there.”

People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment. There were effective recruitment and selection processes in place and appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work.

We checked a variety of records relating to patients, staff and the general running of the practice. We found the records were easily located, well organised, appropriately stored and fit for purpose.

People told us they were happy with their care and the service provided. One person told us "I feel I am in safe hands and could not ask for better care". Staff were observed to be careful to maintain people's privacy and confidentiality. People were greeted in a warm friendly manner. People's needs were assessed and they were provided with necessary information prior to their appointments. The facilities were clean, well equipped and maintained. People were able to tell us about the information and explanations they received before and after their tests. We found the assessments and tests were clearly recorded and people's general practitioners were kept informed to ensure continuity of care. Records were stored securely to maintain confidentiality. Staff received training to ensure they could deliver safe and appropriate care.
