27th March 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People that we spoke to told us that they were happy with the service provided. They said they were consulted about their treatment and kept informed about relevant costs for both NHS and private dental care.

When asked to rate the service, one person said “Wouldn’t want to go anywhere else”.

Other people told they had been using the practice for many years. One said that the staff were very nice and everything was always explained especially advice and tips on aftercare. Another told us, “I was very nervous when I first came but the staff made me feel at ease and relaxed.”

We looked at recent surveys completed by people who attended the practice and the results were all complimentary about the service.

At the time of our visit, the practice was staffed by a practice manager, three part time dentists, a hygienist, one full time and one part time dental nurse, two receptionists and a cleaner. We were told that there was one vacancy for a dental nurse.

We saw that staff were polite and attentive when people arrived at the practice and when arranging appointments with people over the telephone. People we met told us the staff were helpful and friendly and took time to explain and discuss their treatments.

All areas of the practice appeared clean, tidy and hygienic.

Please refer to the outcomes within the main report for more detailed comments about specific aspects of the service.
