23rd October 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people who used the service. They told us their procedure had been explained to them, they were able to ask questions and their consent for their procedure had been obtained. A person who used the service said, "The staff were very nice" and "my scan had been undertaken in a calm and relaxed atmosphere".

We found there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk of infection. Two people we spoke with told us they found the clinic was clean and hygienic.

The provider ensured that checks had been completed before staff commenced employment at the service to ensure they were fit and appropriately qualified.

The provider ensured equipment was regularly checked and maintained to ensure it was safe.

We found that people who used the service were treated by staff who were trained and qualified to carry out their role. Staff's practice and competency was monitored although there were no formal recording systems in place to demonstrate how staff were supervised.

The provider regularly assessed the quality of the service and people's views about the service had been sought and acted upon.
