9th May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four people who had received treatment on the day of our visit. They all said they were happy with the care and treatment they had received. One person commented "The service provided was fantastic". Another person commented "The dentist was great, very personable, incredibly gentle and always explained everything".

People told us they were given sufficient information about their treatment and costs. They said on each visit changes to their medical history were checked. People said staff were approachable, polite, welcoming, respectful, caring and reassuring. They felt that their privacy and confidentiality were promoted.

People told us they were not aware of the complaints procedure. They said if they had any concerns or complaints they would raise them with the dentist and staff. We saw a notice was displayed at reception on who to contact if they had a compliant.

People said the surgery was kept clean. We saw systems were in place to promote this and prevent risks of cross infection.

We spoke to two dentists, two nurses and the reception staff during the inspection. We saw that staff were suitably qualified, supported and trained to deliver care to benefit people using the practice.
