17th January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We carried out this inspection to check on the care and welfare of people using this service. Our visit was discussed and arranged two days in advance. This was to ensure that we had time to see and speak to staff working at the practice, as well as people registered with the service.

We spoke with six people using the service who told us the staff were friendly and approachable and spoke to them in a respectful way. They told us they felt the practice delivered care and treatment in a way that met their needs.

People told us the staff had discussed the treatment options available to them and felt they were able to make informed choices about their treatment. The service was able to respond to emergency situations and provided people with short term notice appointments.

People told us the practice was always clean. We saw that the treatment room, decontamination room, waiting area and other communal areas were clean and tidy. People told us staff always wore gloves and other protective clothing to prevent cross contamination and this was confirmed by our observation.

The staff had received the necessary checks to ensure they were suitable to work with people who may be considered vulnerable.
