22nd February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with three patients, a parent of one patient and three members of staff. We reviewed three patient’s records and saw records relating to three members of staff.

All of the patients spoke highly of the staff, the information they received, and the quality of care and treatment. They told us that they had been given information about different treatment options which helped them to make an informed decision. One patient said; "I am very happy with my treatment”, and another patient said, “The orthodontist explained the impact of each treatment option and what the end result should be, but the choice was always mine”.

All of the patients were very happy with the cleanliness of the practice and confirmed that staff wore uniforms and other protective clothing. One patient described the clinic as, “Spotless”. We found that procedures were in place to minimise the risk of infection.

Staff were supported with their ongoing professional development and received training relevant to their role. This helped to ensure staff had the skills to deliver safe and appropriate care.

Effective procedures were in place to assess and monitor the quality of service that patients received, and included seeking the views of patients.
