11th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with five patients. We spoke with four staff; these were the dentist, the practice manager, a dental nurse and the receptionist.

We took information from other sources to help us understand the views of people who used the service, these included a patient satisfaction survey. We looked at staff meeting minutes and other records from the practice.

The patients we spoke with told us they thought they received good dental treatment from the practice. One patient told us "The dentist is very friendly, calm and explained the procedures very well.” Another patient told us "I am a very anxious patient so coming here is a great relief." They commented that they hoped the practice would “Keep up the good work”.

We saw staff could identify safeguarding concerns and were aware of how to respond.

The practice was following appropriate guidance in relation to infection control. Staff were well trained and supported.

The practice had systems in place to assess and monitor the service. These demonstrated the practice ensured that good standards of care continued to be provided.
