2nd May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with four people attending dental appointments. With their permission we accompanied three people during their consultation and treatment. People were positive about the quality of service they received. One person told us that they had been visiting the service, “Since for ever, they are excellent, I wouldn’t go anywhere else, unless I was forced to.” Another person described the service as, “Brilliant,” and told us that they had no problems in booking their dental appointments.

We saw that staff treated people in friendly, respectful and courteous manner. One person told us, “I don’t mind coming back here,” because they liked the friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.

People were fully involved in the decisions about their dental care and treatment. We heard the dentist ask people if there had been any dental problems since they were last seen. Where people said that they had, we saw that the dentist acted on the information given.

We observed that the reception and clinical areas were clean and tidy. As we gave short notice of our inspection, we asked people if they always found them to be of the same standard. They told us they did.
