5th September 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with four patients. We spoke with six staff; these were the practice manager, a dentist, three dental nurses and one of the receptionists.

We also took information from other sources to help us understand the views of people who used the service, which included a patient satisfaction survey.

The patients we spoke with told us they received good dental treatment from the dentists. One patient told us “They’ve invested in the technology and it feels good coming here”. Another patient told us “I feel that they provide a good standard of work”.

The practice was following appropriate guidance in relation to infection control and the staff were well trained and supported. A member of staff we spoke with told us “We have good infection control procedures in place. Everything is definitely safe”.

Staff we spoke with said that they had undertaken training for safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. We saw systems and information in place in respect to safeguarding. The practice also had systems in place to monitor the quality of the service provided, and to gain the views of the patients.
