25th January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people during our visit. Both were very satisfied with the service they received, describing it as "excellent". They said that they always received treatment of a high standard, and in a way that was relaxed and not rushed. People said staff explained their treatments in simple terms, so they could understand them. They said they gave consent for the treatments, and records confirmed this. Staff were knowledgeable about when written consent had to be obtained. They also had a good understanding of how to manage situations where there was doubt about a person's capacity to consent.

We saw that enough staff were employed to meet the commitments of the practice. Staff had received training appropriate to their role and were supervised in their work. Training included protecting adults from abuse and child protection. Systems were in place to identify and manage risks and to monitor and improve the quality of the service provided.

The practice was clean, tidy, well lit and furnished. We observed good hygiene and infection control procedures were in place.
