26th June 2014 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

We had previously inspected this dental practice in November 2013. We found some concerns in relation to the safety and suitability of equipment at the practice, in that the needles, syringes and other equipment within the emergency drugs box were out of date.

Following our inspection the provider sent us an Action Plan that identified the action they would take to address the concerns.

When we revisited the practice in June 2014 we found that all equipment in the emergency drugs box was in date. We also saw that the provider had clear schedules and reminders in place to check the expiry dates of drugs and equipment at the practice

13th November 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with one patient at the practice and they told us that they couldn't fault the dentist. They told us "I had problems with my teeth before, which I don't have now". The patient also told us that staff were friendly at the practice and that if problems were discovered with their teeth, the dentist explained the problems in a way that they could understand and how their treatment would be carried out.

We observed two patients appointments with their consent and found that full oral examinations were carried out. We saw that the dentist highlighted problems with one person's teeth and explained the different ways in which they could proceed with treatment.

We also found concerns in relation to the safety and suitability of equipment at the practice.
