19th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

As part of our inspection on this dental practice we spoke with two people, who were visiting the dentist for some treatment at the time of our visit, and three members of staff working at the practice including the practice manager, the dentist and a dental nurse.

None of the people who used the service had any concerns about the care and treatment they received. They had both been visiting the practice for some time and were undergoing dental treatment. They told us that the dentist explained their treatment options to them and treated them with respect.

The staff we spoke with were happy working at the practice. The practice had been taken over by the current provider in January 2012 and since then some changes had been made by the provider in terms of the processes and policies in place. The staff we spoke with described a supportive working environment and felt that the care and treatment delivered was of a good standard.

We found that consent was obtained from patients prior to treatment being commenced, people were treated as individuals and that the practice was clean and hygienic. We found some concerns around the recruitment procedures in place at the practice.
