6th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Following our inspection of the service we spoke with three people by telephone who had received treatment at the practice on the day of our visit.

They were all very complimentary about the service and treatment they had received at Highwoods and St Johns Dental Practice and said that they would recommend the practice to family and friends. Comments included “I find the care extremely good, they are prompt with appointments and I always receive an excellent service from the receptionists, the nurses, the hygienist and the dentist” and “They are all so friendly and helpful, I am very happy with the service, I feel very lucky to have such a good dentist and would never want to change.”

Everyone told us that they understood the care and treatment choices available to them and were aware of their treatment plan and associated costs. They all felt very involved in their treatment. One person said “I am always fully informed.”

We found that the surgery was clean and tidy and that staff understood the cleaning procedures to be followed. We saw that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of cross infection.

The staff were appropriately trained and supported and the provider had systems in place to ensure the quality and safety of the service provided.
