When we visited the service, we toured the premises and met with the registered manager who was a dentist and nine other staff including dentists, nurses, hygienists, reception staff and the practice manager. We spoke with six people who used the service.

People told us they had confidence in their dentist and most said they had been attending this practice for a long time. “My dentist is lovely” one person said. “He explains everything. So is the hygienist – I have never had a problem.”

We found that people were treated with respect and their confidentiality was protected. People found it was a friendly and reliable practice where they knew the staff as they were a very stable staff group.

Staff had received training and guidance with respect to protecting children and safeguarding vulnerable adults. Systems were in place for reporting any concern.

The practice was kept clean and hygienic. There were good systems in place for arranging audits and gathering feedback from people who used the service. We saw that management were responsive to people’s views. Staff told us that they felt well supported.
