29th November 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people who had attended appointments on the day of inspection; they all spoke positively about the service provided by the surgery. One person said “it’s never a problem getting an appointment and all of the staff are just lovely”. Another person commented “Even though my last dentist was much cheaper I prefer to come here because I get the treatment I need and I’m reassured by the manner of the dentists”.

People told us they were fully involved in the decisions about their dental care and treatment. They said that the dentist always discussed treatment options and cost with them to help them make an informed decision.

We saw that the practice was clean and well organised and that staff had a good understanding of infection control procedures. We found that there were arrangements in place to ensure that equipment was kept clean and ready for use. People we spoke with said that the surgery was always clean and tidy.

We found that pre-employment checks were undertaken before staff began work and there were effective recruitment and selection processes in place.

There were arrangements for monitoring the quality of the service and people who used the practice were encouraged to provide feedback about the surgery.
