25th March 2013 - During a routine inspection

When we inspected the Castle Street Dental Practice we talked to the dentist and the staff and to each of the people who had an appointment that morning. Each of these people who used the service agreed to our looking at their patient records so that we could verify aspects of our inspection. Because the practice is small only two members of staff support the dentist and we were told that on this occasion the regular dental nurse was on holiday and that temporary cover arrangements were in place.

When we spoke to people who used the service they told us that “the treatment is very good and I am very happy with the service – that’s why I keep coming back”. Another person described the staff as “smashing – they always make you feel comfortable and relaxed”.
