Patients we spoke with were happy with the service provided by Castle View Dental practice. They told us, “they were recommended to me and I am really happy with them.” Another told us, “I travel a distance to get here and I am extremely pleased with the treatment I have had.”

Investigations, including X-rays when appropriate, were carried out and treatment options were discussed following diagnoses. One patient told us, “I had my teeth inspected, an x-ray, the hygienist and a comprehensive dental plan given to me. I knew exactly what was going on with my teeth.” Written copies of treatment plans were routinely given to patients and follow up appointments were made as appropriate.

The environment was clean and tidy on the day of the inspection. Instruments were appropriately decontaminated and stored safely. Adequate infection controls procedures were in place and routinely followed by staff.

Staff received support by management and were given the opportunity to express their views at meetings. All clinical staff were registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and we saw evidence of their continuous professional development and up to date training as required by the GDC.

There was a complaints policy on display for patients and systems in place for handling complaints appropriately.
