18th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During this inspection we spoke with two patients. They stated that they were satisfied with the treatment provided and staff treated them with respect and dignity. Their views can be summarised by the following comment from one of them, “The staff are understanding. I am happy with my treatment. They do what is needed."

The practice had a policy for ensuring that all patients regardless of their background were treated with respect and dignity. Staff were friendly and pleasant towards patients. Staff were knowledgeable regarding procedures for safeguarding children and adults. Assessments and treatment plans had been prepared for patients. Staff had explained treatment options to patients and treatment was given with their agreement and written consent. Follow-up appointments had been made for patients who needed them.

The premises were newly refurbished and there were arrangements for the regular maintenance of equipment.Staff had received training regarding infection control and there were suitable arrangements for the decontamination of equipment and instruments used. There was a brochure with information regarding the practice. This included the complaints procedure and phone number for emergencies.

The practice was diligent in ensuring that proper procedures were followed and the treatment provided was subject to regular checks and audits.This ensures that patients receive appropriate and safe treatment.
