1st January 1970 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four people who had attended an appointment on the day of our visit and reviewed three dental records. We also spoke with six staff and reviewed staff records.

People told us that their treatment options were discussed and that they were able to make an informed decision about their treatment. One person said, “If I’ve needed any treatment we talk about it and ultimately I decide to go ahead with it based on the dentist’s recommendation.” People had appointments at a time that suited them and had high regard for the quality of treatment and care they received. One person said, “I had my own expectations and pretty much knew what I wanted and he [dentist] listened and answered all my questions.”

People told us the standard of hygiene and cleanliness was good. Staff wore uniforms and other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.

All the dental treatment was provided by a qualified dentist and dental nurses who were registered with the General Dental Council (GDC), the professional regulator for dental practitioners.

The provider has a number of monitoring systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of service and treatment delivered. People knew how to make a complaint and were confident that any concerns raised would be addressed. Regular audits, risk assessments and checks carried out ensured all systems, equipment and practices were working effectively.
