4th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with one person during our visit and four people by telephone afterwards. Everyone that we spoke with was pleased with the service and treatment they had received. One said, “He was very gentle, I wasn’t in pain at all”. Another told us, “I was over the moon with his treatment”. On a recent feedback form we read, ‘Dead scared of the dentist, hadn’t been for a few years but now feel very confident’. People told us that the dentist was approachable and reassuring. One person said, “I don’t think I’d go anywhere else now”.

We spoke with the dentist, the dental nurse, the manager and his practice partner. The practice had been open to patients for just over a year. All staff were enthusiastic about the practice and about building the patient base. One said, “It’s so nice to be in a surgery where everything is new”.

We found that the practice was welcoming. People were offered choices about the care that they received and were cared for in a safe and clean environment. We observed staff interacting with people in a kind and cheerful manner. There were systems in place to assess and monitor the service.
