5th October 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

The practice was well organised and had a culture of maintaining the quality of the service provided. People experienced effective, safe, appropriate care and support that met their needs. This was confirmed by people we spoke to and by the records which were kept. One person said “We all like coming to the surgery and it is always really clean and well organised”. An individual told us that the dentist always explained the options available. They said “he is really good at telling me in plain language what I need done”.

There were suitable arrangements for obtaining peoples consent for the care and the treatment provided to them. People told us they were happy with the service provided. One person said “I like the way they always give me options and I know about prices because of all the information displayed in the surgery”. Another person told us, "It's a really good practice. I've been coming here for some time and all of my family come including my daughter and her two children."

The staff we spoke with knew how to carry out their role and continued to maintain their skills and competencies to make sure they remained safe to practice. One person told us that they are sent reminders when they need to have their routine appointments for check ups and that “this helps us to make sure that all of the family keep up to date with our dental care”.

We found that people were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance was followed.
