23rd September 2014 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

We last inspected Church Hill Dental Practice on the 8 March 2013 and found non-compliance in relation to ineffective infection control systems and insufficient staff training. We did not speak to patients at this inspection.

At this inspection we found the provider had taken steps to ensure there were effective operation systems to assess the risk and control the spread of health care associated infection. Patients were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

8th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We found a single handed practice situated in a converted terraced house just off a main High Street. Discussions and observations with a patient confirmed they were happy with the service provided. They felt that they were given enough information about their treatment options as well as the fee scales and had no hesitation in asking any question in relation to their treatment or cost.

Our inspection found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. Patients were treated with respect and dignity as well as maintaining privacy. Consultations took place within private surgeries where privacy and confidentiality were ensured. The principle had invested in new digital x -ray equipment, as well as an expensive dental unit.

The provider had not developed and implemented policies and procedures in line with national guidance to ensure the safe running of the practice to ensure patient safety and support to staff.
