20th February 2014 - During an inspection in response to concerns pdf icon

We carried out this inspection because concerns had been raised with us about infection control procedures in the practice. We spoke with two dentists to include the principal dentist, the practice manager and a dental nurse. We found that the practice was clean and infection control procedures were available for staff to follow. All instruments and hand pieces were cleaned and sterilised according to the decontamination procedures. Cleaning schedules had been completed daily in the clinical areas and the practice was deep cleaned twice a week. Quality checks had been completed to ensure the decontamination had been effective. We found the practice had completed the necessary infection control procedures to ensure patients were protected from infectious diseases.

16th January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four people who used the practice. They made positive comments about the service, one person described the practice as "absolutely brilliant". Another person told us that their experience of using the practice had been "very good". People also told us how they had their dental treatment explained to them and we saw how one of the dentists explained a person's treatment plan to them. There were arrangements in place to protect children and vulnerable adults from the risk of abuse. Everyone we spoke to said that the practice environment was clean when they visited. We found that there were effective procedures in place for the decontamination of dental instruments. We also found that quality monitoring systems were in place that included seeking the views of people that used the service.
