We did not speak to anyone who used the service on this occasion. This was because there were no patients attending the service during our inspection. There was however, a consultant audiologist carrying out a professional practice audit on behalf of the British Society of Audiologists’ professional practice committee. We were told by the consultant that the professional practice audit assessed people for best practice and excellence and was only open to audiologists who were able to demonstrate a high level of competence. We also found that the service had recently undergone an external ‘customer care’ audit carried out by a company who specialised in customer care training. This was generally complimentary about the service.

We also found that people consented to their treatments and that treatment was delivered in line with assessed need. The premises were adequately laid out and maintained. Appropriate pre-employment checks were made on staff and there were processes in place for patients to make comments and complaints about the service.

People told us that they felt Click Hearing ran a good service that met their needs. People explained that the service was provided by friendly and reliable staff. "It ticks all the boxes. Very good. Appointments are on time and staff are always polite" was typical of the comments we received.

People felt involved in their treatment and the service provided clear information about treatment and its costs. The service assessed people appropriately and people felt their needs were met by suitably qualified staff. Where appropriate the service took account of people's vulnerability in the way that the service was delivered. The service kept accurate records which were held securely.
