5th February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two patients during our visit to the service. They were complementary about the quality of services provided to them. One patient had received orthodontic treatment. They said, “I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the practice. I have received excellent treatment. The results are amazing and far exceed my expectations.” Another patient who had experienced extensive cosmetic and restorative treatment told us, “My treatment has truly changed my life.”

Patients told us the dentist provided them with various treatment options and explained the different costs involved. They said the dentist always explained the risk and benefits of various treatments and provided details of the expected outcome.

Patients were provided with a written treatment plan and breakdown of costs. They were asked to consent to their treatment.

Patients told us the dentist; hygienist and nurses were approachable, friendly and professional. One patient said, “The dentist is very gentle. X always checks that I’m OK.” Another told us, “My treatment was entirely pain free. I cannot fault this practice, they are entirely professional.”

We saw the practice was clean and hygienic and the staff followed appropriate infection control guidelines.

Staff told us they felt valued and were offered appropriate support to keep their training up to date.

Patients were made aware of the complaints procedure. However, no complaints had been made about the service in the past year.
