4th December 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People's needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. We spoke with five people who used the service. They spoke positively about the care and treatment they had received. They told us their treatments were clearly explained and they were made to feel comfortable and relaxed. One person told us, “They are smashing, friendly and efficient.”

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We saw that people were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed. People we spoke with told us the practice was always very clean and staff always wore protective clothing when treating them.

Staff received appropriate professional development. We saw that a training programme was in place to provide staff with the training and support they needed to maintain their qualifications.

The practice had an effective well organised system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received. People were given information about how to raise concerns. All the people we spoke with said they were happy with the service they received. The practice also used surveys to gain people’s opinion. The outcome of the ones completed this year contained positive answers to the set questions.
