8th August 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to four people using the service and they all told us they were satisfied with the treatments they had received, and they made positive comments about the staff. Peoples’ complimentary remarks included, “staff are very welcoming and accommodating”, “excellent practice would recommend to others”, and “treatments costs and options were explained”. People told us that the practice was visibly clean and hygienic when they visited, and this was our observation on the day of the inspection.

We found that people were involved in the planning of their care and treatment, and people we spoke with felt that care was delivered safely and as planned. We found the provider had appropriate arrangements in place to minimise the risks and spread of infection, however we noted that mops were inappropriately stored in the cupboard. Staff were supported with appropriate training, appraisals and continuous professional development, in line with the General Dental Council requirements. The provider had procedures in place to deal with complaints including providing people with information of the complaints policy, and resolving complaints where possible to people’s satisfaction.
