People are involved in making decisions about their treatment. One person told us “there is always a discussion about what choices are available. There is never any pressure the decision is always up to me”. People’s needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. One person told us “staff are very polite and always explain things”. The staff were all trained in safeguarding and policies and procedures were in place to make sure that people who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. The provider met the best practice standards of guidelines from the Department of Health showing that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The provider had risk assessment and audit processes in place to ensure that they identified, monitored and managed risks.
