8th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During this inspection we spoke with patients. They indicated that they were well treated and staff were respectful towards them. They expressed satisfaction with the care and treatment provided. Patients expressed confidence in the dentists and other staff who attended to them. One patient told us "I am so happy here, that is why I keep coming here, the dentist looks after me and staff are very respectful". Another patient told us about the staff "lovely ladies and gentleman." We saw evidence that patient satisfaction surveys were carried out annually on large number of patients and that the results were gathered, analysed and compared in the form of audits. As a result of patient feedback, the practice had undertaken major refurbishment and further improvements were planned.

Patients told us that the clinic was always clean. We observed that the practice was clean and equipment used had been regularly maintained. There were effective systems in place for the prevention of infections. Staff were knowledgeable regarding all issues including infection control and decontamination procedures for equipment and instruments used.

The practice kept comprehensive records relating to staff and management of services. Patient's records were accurate and had been reviewed and updated regularly.
