13th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People told us that their dentist explained their treatment and costs to them prior to any work being done. They told us they were happy with the service they provided. One person told us "I have been coming here for 15 years and I am happy, you can't get any better treatment than here and the costs are very reasonable."

Medical information was reviewed before the start of each treatment to ensure it was up to date and accurate but also to ensure the person did not have any medical problems that would cause problems during treatment. Effective systems to manage the risk of infection were in place. Five people told us the practice is always clean and staff always wear protective clothing before starting treatment.

We found that the service had a system in place to carry out appropriate recruitment checks prior to staff being employed within the service.

Complaint information was available for people to use if they wanted to raise any concerns. Both people we spoke with told us that if they had a complaint they would speak to the dentist.
