People were given appropriate information and support regarding their care or treatment. A treatment coordinator was available at the service and information about the service was available on the practice website. On the day of our inspection we spoke with five people who used the service who said that they were happy with the service. People understood the care and treatment choices available to them. One person we spoke with told us “they explain the options and give you time to decide what you want to do”.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people’s safety and welfare. The practice used research based evidence for people's individual health needs. One person said "I wouldn't go anywhere else, they are very caring".

On the day of our inspection the practice and surgery rooms were clean, hygienic and well maintained and people who used the service told us "it's always clean". Staff had been trained in infection control practices. Instruments were appropriately decontaminated after they had been used.

Staff had undertaken a range of training in safeguarding, infection control and basic life support. Dental nurses worked under the supervision of dentists. Records were stored safely and record keeping audits were carried out by staff.
