4th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four patients, four members of staff, the provider and looked at a variety of records.

Patients told us they were treated with respect and involved in discussions about their care and treatment.

Patients told us they were satisfied with the quality of care and treatment offered by the practice.

Patient comments about their experiences at the dentist included, “It’s a good surgery. It’s clean, well run and efficient. You’re always seen in an emergency and there’s no concerns/complaints. They’re professional, but make you feel at home – they get the balance right”, “[The dentist’s] good. He knows what needs to be done and it’s always explained and clear to you” and “Everything’s explained. They’re flexible with appointments and you don’t feel scared to ask. Treatments and payments are discussed in surgery. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. It’s a good practice, compared to other dental experiences I’ve had. It doesn’t hurt, they’re reassuring and very kind.”

We saw that patients were treated in a clean environment and protected from the risk of infection. Patients told us they felt the practice was clean and that staff wore gloves and face masks. One patient commented, “It’s very clean and staff wear protection as well”.

A recruitment process was followed when staff were appointed.

The service had quality checking systems in place to manage risks and assure the health, welfare and safety of people who received care.
