8th May 2012 - During a routine inspection
There is one dentist who operates from this practice. In addition there is a practice manager, a dental nurse and receptionist. Appointments are planned so that patients visit at appointed times thereby ensuring there is little or no waiting time. We spoke with the dentist, practice manager, staff and patients. This helped us to gain an overview of what people experience using the practice. We asked patients to talk to us about their experiences using the service. They were very positive about the way they were treated by staff, and were happy with the care and support shown to them during the course of their treatment. Comments they made included, "I have been coming here for years, never had any issues." Also, "The staff are very nice and always have a conversation with me when I come in.” Patients told us they were given enough information about their treatment options including costs and were kept informed about how their treatment was progressing throughout the process. A comment included, "He talks me through everything so I know what’s going on." The practice manager told us, "We make sure people have all the information they need to make a decision.” A patient we spoke with did not have any concerns about the standard of care and treatment they were receiving. They told us they would be comfortable in raising any issues or concerns they may have with staff if they felt they needed to.
