16th August 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with two people who use the service, the manager and three members of staff. The people we spoke with told us they were satisfied with the service provided. One person said "I am a very nervous person but they always make you very comfortable and relaxed and put you at ease.”

We observed staff greeting people in a warm and friendly manner and showed them respect. People we spoke with said that they had been given the necessary information in relation to their treatment, in order to make informed decisions. One person said “they always explain in detail the treatment options available.”

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The surgery rooms were clean, well equipped and cross infection guidelines were being followed.

Staff received appropriate professional development to carry out their job roles effectively. This meant they were qualified and able to meet the needs of the people who use the service.

There was an effective complaints system available. The provider had a complaints policy in place and the procedure was available in the waiting area for people to view. This meant people were aware of the steps to take if they needed to make a complaint.
