24th January 2013 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

We did not speak to people who use the service, on this occasion, as we visited the practice when there were no patients present. This was a follow-up inspection to check if the provider had complied with warning notices we had served on 20 December 2012.

We found that the provider had made considerable improvements to ensure people were protected form the risk of infection, people were cared for in a more hygienic environment.

We also found that the provider had made improvements to ensure people were provided with care and treatment by staff that were safely recruited.

We saw an improvement in how the provider managed people's records and ensured they were held securely. The records we checked were accurate and up to date.

10th December 2012 - During an inspection in response to concerns pdf icon

People told us that staff were “very nice” and that the dentist explained their treatments in a way they understood. The service undertook dental assessments and records reflected that people were involved in planning their treatment.

We undertook this inspection in response to concerns raised to us about the cleanliness of the service. We found that the service failed to ensure people were treated in a hygienic environment. The service did not have robust processes in place to prevent the spread of infection.

We checked how the service recruited staff and found that their processes were not sufficiently robust to protect people who use the service.

People who use the service cannot be assured that their personal information is held securely.
