24th September 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four people who used the service. People told us they were satisfied with the service they received. People were complimentary about the staff. One person told us, "The staff here are excellent. Always professional." Another told us, "I have been coming back for years and I am very happy with the dentist who treats me."

We saw that the practice conformed to the Department of Health guidance in the prevention of cross infection. The practice was clean and all dental equipment well maintained.

There was a complaints procedure and system in place. We saw that people who used the service were regularly asked their views about how the service was run and we saw evidence from a review of records that people's views were acted upon.

We spoke with three staff who demonstrated to us they had been trained in how to safeguard vulnerable adults and in the protection of children. We saw from a review of staff records and discussions with staff that they had had received a variety of training relevant to their roles and responsibilities.
