12th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People told us they liked the service and liked their appointments being on time. One person told us, “My appointment was arranged the next day with a choice of where to go. I was told I could have when I liked it but I chose the first appointment.” Other comments included: “It has all been handled very skilfully and clearly. I have known what they were doing and usually why. It was professional, and a calming event throughout.”

The service had in place a consent document which the person was asked to sign prior to their scan and we saw that people who used the service had signed and dated the document. People we spoke with said they felt safe using the service.

People spoke to us positively about the staff. Comments included: “Staff are very pleasant, very welcoming and full of explanation,” “The staff were pleasant and put me at ease,” and “The staff treated me as I would wish to be treated.”

Some patients received an exit survey and an annual patient satisfaction survey was completed. Typical comments included: “Everything was very satisfactory,” “Excellent service, short wait,” and “Very good service as it is; don’t mess with it.”

The provider also undertook a GP satisfaction survey and comments in the 2013 survey included: “An excellent service in the community where it belongs,” “The cardiologist comments are very helpful and much valued by patients. These help to avoid unnecessary outpatient referrals,” and “A good location for our patients.”
