31st May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Peoples needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their treatment plan. We saw peoples treatment plans and they showed that people were well informed before any treatment was carried out. Relevant consent was obtained and treatment options available to people were discussed.

We spoke with two people and looked at patient feedback about the service. People were happy with the care and treatment they received. One person said that the dentist treats his patients "in a beautiful way". Results from the patient feedback form showed that all 29 people who responded said that they strongly agreed that their consent was always sought before treatment and that the rooms were always clean and tidy.

Staff had been trained in life support and the surgery had equipment to deal with emergencies.

The surgery was clean and well maintained on the day of the visit. Staff wore appropriate protective clothing. There was a decontamination process in place that was being followed.
