5th December 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We found a clean, well maintained, open plan modernised practice on the main road.

Patients that used the practice told us that they were happy with the service provided. They felt they were given enough information about their treatment options and the relevant costs and were able to ask all the questions they wanted to. They found the staff to be friendly and reported that they were treated with respect and their privacy maintained.

Consultations took place in private rooms to ensure privacy and maintain confidentiality.

Treatments records were paper based. We sampled eight patient records. We saw that patients completed a health declaration prior to any consultation with the dentist and before commencing any treatment. Consent was reaffirmed before any consultation was commenced.

We found the practice had two dental surgeries one for the dentist and one for the hygienist. There were four part time dental nurses to support the team.

People told us: “I always know what's going on the dentist is so calming and treatments are always explained well”.
