3rd December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People told us their views were listened to and they were involved in making decisions and choices about their treatment options.

People had their needs assessed and this information was used to develop a treatment or training plan. Staff told us the approach they adopted was “patient focussed” around the needs of each individual athlete to enable them to recover as quickly as possible.

People who used the service said they were able to get an appointment quickly. Staff told us they felt there were enough staff to meet people's needs.

The provider had sytems in place to assess the quality of the service and to gather the views of people who used the service.

People who used the service told us they knew how to complain if they were unhappy with their treatment. None of the people we spoke with raised any concerns about the service. One person commented that, “The staff are brilliant.”

4th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

One person we spoke with confirmed they were asked to give their consent to treatment during their consultation. They also told us they were given enough information about various options available to them to enable them to make an informed choice about their treatment.

One person we spoke with said the doctor was very knowledgeable and always explained why he recommended particular treatments. They commented, “The doctor was very good and I got to see him straightaway. He was very friendly and very helpful.”

Staff had completed safeguarding and child protection training and this training was updated regularly. The provider had policies and procedures in place for safeguarding adults and child protection.

Staff told us they felt well supported in their role and had regular communication with their line manager.

People who used the service told us they had been asked for their views about the treatment they received and they felt their views were listened to.
