The practice was visibly clean and tidy and the staff worked well as a team. All of the staff who worked at the practice were either dentists or dental nurses and were all registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).

Patients were treated with respect and dignity and were involved in discussions regarding their treatment. They were given appropriate support and advice.

Treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure patients' safety and welfare. We heard discussions about treatment options between patients and dentists. The practice had procedures in place to be able to respond to any medical emergency that may have arisen.

The practice had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. All of the staff had received training in protecting vulnerable adults and children from abuse.

Patients were treated in a clean, hygienic environment and equipment used was tested and maintained in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.

All of the staff received appropriate professional development and support.

The practice had an effective system in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of patients using the service and others.

We spoke with people who told us that the dental services were “excellent.” They told us the place was clean and they had been well informed about the dental treatment they were going to receive. One person told us that the when she first came here she was “terrified” and the dentist went out of his way to calm her.
