12th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with one patient, the dentist and the dental nurse. We also looked at on-line comments and recommendations that had been received. We looked at treatment records and reviewed relevant documents for staff and management of the practice.

The person we spoke with told us "I was very happy with my visit today. The dentist explained my treatment to me fully and answered all of my questions. I have no hesitation about coming back for further treatments." A comment we saw on-line stated: "At the end of the first visit, I couldn't believe how nice and pain-free the whole experience really was."

We found the dentist provided a treatment plan and offered patients a choice of treatments. The dentist supported each treatment plan with a costing, breakdown of appointments required and easy to understand explanations both verbally and in a written format. We were told the dentist gave people time to decide the course of treatment they wished to take.

The practice was newly decorated and all of the equipment was new. The surgery was clean and hygienic. We observed the nurse cleaning and sterilising equipment in the de-contamination suite. This room met the requirements of department of health guidelines.

The staff team was small and we found efficient and proper recruitment processes were in place. We saw the provider had suitable and appropriate systems in place to monitor the quality of service they provide.
