We observed care and we spoke with three people by telephone, subsequent to our visit. They were all happy with the care and treatment they received and the way in which it was delivered. One person told us, "I've been coming for over twenty years, which I wouldn't have done unless I was happy".

People told us their privacy, dignity and independence were respected. People’s views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. We noted people's verbal and written consent was obtained before care and treatment was undertaken. People’s views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their treatment.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people’s safety and welfare. There were arrangements and equipment in place to deal with medical emergencies. People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and to report concerns to the appropriate authorities. We saw that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We noted staff received appropriate professional development and were offered training relevant to the needs of the people they were treating. We also found that systems were in place for people and relatives to make a complaint about the service if necessary.
