23rd August 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with two people who use the service and five members of staff. People told us that they had no complaints about the service. One person said “I am usually frightened about seeing the dentist, but here they make me very comfortable.” Another said "they are very friendly and flexible, even when I am late for my appointment they will fit me in.”

People who use the service were given appropriate information and support regarding their care or treatment. One person said “they are very informative, everything is explained before any treatment is given.”

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The provider was following the Department of Health guidelines for infection control and was working towards meeting best practice standards.

Staff received appropriate professional development in order to carry out their job roles effectively and meet the needs of the people using the service.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.
