3rd October 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

The provider was a small practice with one dentist. We spoke with the dentist, a dental nurse and the receptionist. We also spoke with four people who used the service. They had all been using the practice for several years. They told us that they were happy with the service they received and had no complaints. One person said “the staff are very professional”. Another said “I’m quite happy, it’s always clean and the dentist is really very good.”

People told us they had enough information about their treatments. We saw that detailed records of their treatments had been kept.

The practice was clean and tidy. There was a process in place for minimising the risk of cross infection and contamination.

Staff told us they were supported by management. They said that there were plenty of opportunities to raise concerns or ideas with the dentist for change and improvement.

The provider had a process of monitoring the service that people received.
