11th February 2014 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

We did not speak to people who used the service. This was a follow up inspection to check on two compliance actions from a previous inspection. We found improvements to the arrangements for safeguarding adults and those who may lack mental capacity. We also found that audits had been completed in relation to the decontamination of dental instruments. The practice had also made changes to the environment where instruments were cleaned and sterilised.

22nd May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four people who used the practice. They made positive comments about the practice and the treatment they had received. One person described the practice as “brilliant”. They told us that the staff were polite and respectful to them. We found that people were able to give their views about the service they had received. People also told us how they had their dental treatment explained to them and records that we looked at showed this. The practice was equipped to deal with medical emergencies and staff had received relevant training.

Staff had also received training to protect children from the risk of abuse, although further training was needed to protect vulnerable adults. We found that the practice was not following the current Department of Health guidance relating to the decontamination of dental instruments. Audits had taken place to review the quality of the service provided.
